Transforming lives through hope and guidance from the Word of God.
The Mission of
LOWCOUNTRY PRISON MINISTRIES
is to share the HOPE of JESUS by expressing His
love and forgiveness using the Word of God.
To impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men,
women, and youth, as well as their families, to become
loving and productive citizens of their communities.
Delivering the Word of God to Incarcerated Individuals:
A Personal Journey of Hope and Redemption
As someone who has experienced incarceration firsthand, I understand the profound impact it can have on one's life. I know what it means to turn my life around, and I have found a true connection with the men behind bars. Not only do I understand their struggles, but I have been in their shoes. Many of these men have lost hope and wonder if they can ever reintegrate into society. I am living proof that, through the grace of God and the support of true friends and family, it is possible.
Proverbs 3:4-5 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." By leaning on my faith, I was able to overcome major addictions, deep insecurities, severe traumas, and moments of hopelessness. I questioned whether I could ever be a productive member of society, but through the grace of God, I am living proof that change is possible for anyone.
Our ministry is partnering with Prison Fellowship, founded by Chuck Colson, a man who also went to prison behind the Watergate scandal. This partnership has provided our ministry with the opportunity to teach classes built upon their curriculum, which equips these men with the tools to reintegrate into society as good members.
We are fully licensed to practice ministry in Georgia and South Carolina. We've been approved to visit Palmer Pre-Release once a month, and we teach a class through our own ministry on Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. at Coastal Prison. Additionally, we teach the Prison Fellowship curriculum on Mondays and Wednesdays at Coastal Prison. Our main objective is to let these men know that they are not forgotten and that they are loved. Like the prodigal son, they are always welcome back.

Honoring the lives of two extraordinary women whose unwavering prayers and steadfast belief have shaped the person I am today. My beloved mother, Arthurene Francois-Thompson (September 15, 1942 – May 13, 2019), and my cherished aunt, Sandra Louise Williams (January 9, 1950 – January 11, 2025). Their legacies will endure through this ministry, as they have instilled in me the ability to extend to others the love and support they so generously gave to me.
May they rest in peace.
